How we pay for Green Energy, Mochronicle, 5-6-9

Al Gore testified to congress on the Cap and Trade scheme and when asked about his meeting with Enron's former CEO and founder Kennith Lay.
REP. Steve Scalise R-Louisiana,"It's my understanding that back in 1997 when you were Vise President, Enron's CEO Ken Lay was envolved in discussions with you at the whitehouse about helping develpove this type of policy, this trade and scheme. Is that accurate ? Is it innacurate ? Its been reported ?"
Gore replied, "I don't know. I met with Ken Lay as lots of people did before anybody knew that he was a crook."
Gore contends that Global Warming is non debatable and he stands to profit greatly with the world's Cap and Trade schemes. This sceme will take money from polluting companies to invest in green energy. Like any other tax set on corporations, the profits will have to be compensated by raising their prices therefore offseting losses onto the public. That means it is a tax on the tax payers. Meanwhile Gore and David Blood (former CEO of Goldman Sachs) now chairman and CEO respectively for
G.I.M. stand to gain millions of dollars by helping empliment the Cap & Trade Scheme providing annalyisis and advise to the government on how to reduce carbon emmisions. The later is good, but the tax payer's money that has been set aside for research and advisory boards, along with the billions of dollars put into a green stock market that people can trade would better be spent building wind turbines and solar fields right now (like yesterday). Everyone should be in agreement that this would directly benefit the tax payers, pucsh forward energy independence, off-set carbon emmisions, create jobs, and reduce our carbon footprint. For some reason Obama, Gore, and the public is not asking for this RIGHT NOW. This is something we could have put the hundreds of billions and even trillions of tax payer dollars towards instead of bank bailouts, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and failing auto companies. Oh by the way there are many rich and powerful people at the top of these forrementioned money pits that have been making millions, hundreds of millions or even billions of dollars while Obama along with republicans and democrats pour tax payer money into these controversial diversions. Why not just send all that money to start building wind turbines and solar fields today ! When we fund and build the green future, hopefully the people will be subsidized for the energy created by their tax dollars, big business friendly democrats and republicans however will unduobtedly give this money/technology/infrastructure to private interprise and do you think once the capitalists have a new business model that they are not going to squeeze as much money as they can from the public that is buying their electricity (public funded) or their internet service (public funded). It should be controlled by the government. We could also create a car company, researching and producing battery powred cars. Instead of bailing out Auto when times are bad, but when times are good allow them to keep the profits.
If Obama gave everybody $1000 to invest in their favorite of 4 money pits scemes, which one would you give your money to: (1) massive bank bailout, (2) Auto Bailout, (3) supporting wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, or (4) supporting green energy and green auto. I would choose (4) to support green energy and make sure the tax payer recieves a credit of free energy, afterall it IS our money. Screw the other problems and bring our soldiers home. And the rest of you republicans, democrats, and others, please think about where your money is going and where you want your money to go, and discuss with your fellow Americans these issues, and let your voice be heard.  Mochronicle

Greenhouse gases nearing stricter regulation in the US. The Supreme Court ruled two years ago that greenhouse gases must be regulated if found to be a danger to human health because it falls under the Clean Air Act. Sources say that the EPA will release its findings on Friday and after a comment period will make a final ruling. We want to keep driving our vehicles and not pay too much for gas or emissions control, but that is the EPA's job to protect people and the environment from our destructive nature.
Pro-Pesticide Group Criticizes First Lady’s Organic Garden

And First Lady Michelle Obama is coming under criticism from a pro-pesticide industry group for deciding to plant an organic garden at the White House. The Mid America CropLife Association recently wrote to the First Lady to urge her to consider using pesticides, or what they call "crop protection products.” One official with the pro-pesticide group said, “While a garden is a great idea, the thought of it being organic made [us] shudder.” Mid America CropLife represents agribusinesses like Monsanto, Dow AgroSciences and DuPont.
